This cliche will make you 5 figures 💸

brand development Jun 27, 2025

So yesterday I was telling you about how a label offered me $50,000.

And honestly, I might have said yes if the label only wanted a portion/percentage of my catalog.

But signing the contract they sent would’ve meant they owned me.

Not just my beats, but also “Chu” the person.

Labels always want the music, don’t get me wrong.

But they can get good music from anyone.

They can find hard beats anywhere.

What they can’t replicate are the unique individuals.

(You need to understand this so you don’t waste time thinking all you need is better beats - of course you need good beats, but you also need something more).

That’s why you’ve heard that cliche - “80%/90% of music is marketing” (or something like that).

It’s cliche, but true.

But I think people get confused by this.

They think it’s about cold DMs or studying SEO - but it’s NOT.

Those are tools that can help (when use correctly).

But the marketing in and of itself is also just a tool to help you get what you actually need.

And what you really need is a brand.

People buy the brand, not the music/beats.

That’s why there are some producers out there who make the most amazing beats ever but have zero motion.

And I’m sure you’ve heard some hater complain about how popular producers make bad/basic beats.

Whether their beats are good or bad, basic or complex, doesn’t matter though.

Because they’ve built a brand that people buy into.

This is what I was talking about yesterday.

My brand is what allows me to make moves, and those moves are what attracted the label.

I’m also able to decline the label’s offer because my brand is worth more than the offer.

My brand is what they’re trying to buyout, which is why they put a clause in the contract that gave them rights to everything I create from my likeness.

Because, at the end of the day, beats are just a commodity that they can get from anyone.

What they can’t get from anyone else is ME.

If you wanna learn how I built a brand and catalog that allowed me to confidently say no to this offer, check out my “1000 USD per Month is Achievable for Any internet producer who tries” Full Bundle.
